Robyn Hitchcock & the Egyptians
Signed with A&M Records in 1987. "We got things in the contract to heighten our artistic control. When I signed I just explained to them what the basic terms were that were not to be messed with. We just wanted to be marketed as ourselves, that's all," Hitchcock told Jean Rosenbluth.
Globe of Frogs was released on February 2, 1987. By the end of the month it had sold over 40,000 copies; the most of any of Hitchcock's albums.
"So You Think You're in Love" was No. 1 on the alternative rock chart for a month.
