Ayers Rock

In 1974, Jerry Moss licensed the Ayers Rock album Big Red Rock from Australian label Mushroom Records. The funding from the license was sufficient for Ayers Rock to have a U.S. tour and record their Beyond album. Ayers Rock signed with A&M in June 1975. This was the first Australian band signed by the label.

"We tried not to be influenced by American music."--Chris Brown, The Age March 23, 1976

Beyond was recorded in September 1975. It cost $60,000 to produce.
