Liza Minnelli

Starting on July 21 and appearing into August 1967 Liza Minnelli played Chequers Niteclub in Sydney, Australia and New 20's Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia. On her opening night more than 1,000 people were in the audience. By the time she signed with A&M Liza had a full nightclub show and appeared on major stages like the Sahara in Las Vegas.

Signed a long-term contract with A&M Records around October 1, 1967. She recorded her debut album Liza Minnelli between October and December. Her debut album's working title was Debutante's Ball. The album was released as Liza Minnelli in late January 1968. First printings of the album's label have the misprint "Lisa Minnelli." The first song recorded for the album was "Happy Land." 

There were four additional songs recorded for the album that were never released by A&M Records. They were "Alicinha," "This Girl's In Love With You," "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" and "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover."

June and July 1968, played Chequers Niteclub Sydney, Australia. Festival Records rush released Liza Minnelli to coincide with her Chequers dates.

COME SATURDAY MORNING (1970)

Come Saturday Morning was recorded in August 1969 with sessions in Los Angeles and New York. The album had its first release in France at the time Minnelli was appearing at the Olympia in Paris. The US release was in February 1970. 

NEW FEELIN' (1970)

Plans to record New Feelin'  were announced in August 1970. It was recorded at Muscle Shoals Fame Recording Studios around October/November 1970. The Muscle Shoals Brass played on her sessions. The album was released in October 1970. 

Filming of the motion picture "Cabaret" in Germany began in early December 1970.

In late December 1970 Minnelli recorded an album in Memphis at Fame Recording Studios. She was back in February 1971 to record a single.

LIVE AT THE OLYMPIA IN PARIS (1972)

Live At the Olympia In Paris was Minnelli's recorded on December 11 and 13, 1969. It was released first in Japan and Australis and in the U.S. in May 1972.

Liza left A&M Records in May 1972.
