This Omen Records single features Randy Curtis playing the trumpet solo. Randy is Randy Alpert who would later co-write the hit song "Rise." As an adult he performed under the name Badazz. "Little Blue River" and "The Pupil" were recorded at United Recorders on March 23, 1964 with musicians:

The single got some air play in Chicago, IL in June 1964 and peaked at #33 on radio station WLS.
