In Canada the Nylons were signed to Attic Records and was distributed by A&M Records Canada. In the U.S. the Nylons were signed to Open Air Records, a Windham Hill Records affiliate, that was distributed by A&M in most of the rest of the world.

The Nylons Happy Together album received a CRIA gold album certification. By 1987 it had sold over 300,000 units in the U.S.

The group was among the nominees in the first year the Junos added the Entertainer of the Year category.
