Alarm
The Alarm was formed in February 1981. The band's name was taken from its first song "Alarm Alarm."
Signed to I.R.S. Records in October 1982 and the single "Marching On" was released. Their concerts were as a supporting act.
In January 1983 The Alarm played its first show as the headliner at London's Marquee.
"The Stand" was released in April 1983. In June the band did its first tour in the United States and a 5-song EP was released.
Recording sessions for The Alarm's debut album Declaration began in September 1983. In December the group did another tour in the U.S. and its first tour in Canada.
Declaration was released in February 1984. It debuted at #6 in Britain. The first single was "68 Guns." In April "The Deceiver" became the second single. In September "The Chant Has Just Begun" and "Absolute Reality" were released as singles.
