Rita MacNeil

Rita MacNeil's album Reason to Believe sold over 70,000 copies and Flying On Your Own 120,000 copies by July 1988.

In November 1988 her album Now the Bell Ring shipped gold in Canada and went platinum within one month of release. The album was supported with a 25-minute radio special that included all the songs on the album with narration by MacNeil.
