"In the Midnight Hour" was produced by Doug Brown for the Detroit Sound Music Co.
"In the Midnight Hour" single was a Billboard breakout single on April 8, 1967 in Detroit. Reviewed by Cash Box on April 20, the publication thought the song would cause demand for the group. The song had been recorded by a number of other artists but The Wanted's treatment made Cash Box think this might be the definitive version.
In Canada "In the Midnight Hour" was a hit in the Windsor-Detroit area and getting airplay across the nation.
The Wanted's follow-up single "Don't Worry Baby" was a Cash Box top 10 pick to break into its Top 100 singles based on retail sales in June 1967. Record World saw the single peak at #15 on its Upcoming Singles chart.
