Falco's recordings were only on A&M Records in the U.S. under a licensing agreement with the German label Gig.
By April 1986, "Rock Me Amadeus" sold about 800,000 copies and the album sold about 650,000 copies in the United States.
Falco won the first Austrian Record Prize. The prize was open only to Austrian artists, composers or producers who released recordings during 1985.
