A&M Records was home to me in the '70s. Chuck, Brenda, Gil, Marsha, Rita Ross and family gave me my first intro to the music business and put me on the right track to my own family and an historic artistic career. Love to all. -- Ron Artis, Almo/Irving Music

L.A.X.

Producer John Florez created the quartet L.A.X. He produced two tracks with L.A.X. "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" and "Sha La Do I." Florez was known at A&M Records for his work with Carl Graves. He brought the L.A.X. tracks to A&M's Kip Cohen who bought the masters and gave Florez the go-ahead to record a full album with the group. A&M never released the album. Instead the label offered Lynda Seals a singles contract and Ron Keith an album contract.
